Job Summary of Academic Substitute Aide:

Help educators in guiding students through instructional tasks, ensuring classroom management, and offering personalized assistance. Support students in their academic and personal advancement, especially those requiring special accommodations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Academic Substitute Aide:

• Provide guidance and help to students on an individual basis or in smaller, focused gatherings.
• Support in upholding a positive learning atmosphere through effective strategies for classroom management.
• Compile resources and support in managing administrative responsibilities.
• Direct student oversight in different school settings, including lunchrooms, recreational areas, and field excursions.
• Provide support to students with special needs according to the guidelines set out in their IEPs or 504 Plans.
• Assist students in fulfilling their academic, personal, and emotional needs.
• Carry out supplementary responsibilities as required by the teacher in the classroom or the school administration.

Qualifications and Experience of Academic Substitute Aide:

• Attainment of a high school diploma or a GED is a common prerequisite for many opportunities.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English through speaking, reading, and writing.
