Job Title: Assistant Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in leading store operations, team development, and customer experience. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager assumes full responsibility for store performance, ensuring all company standards and expectations are met or exceeded.

Essential Functions

Brand (30%)

• Supervise and guide daily associate activities to deliver exceptional customer experiences and maximize sales/KPIs.

• Ensure execution of brand standards across merchandising, planograms (POGs), marketing, backroom organization, and associate presentation.

• Resolve customer issues effectively and professionally.

• Analyze store performance and trends to anticipate customer needs.

People (30%)

• Engage, train, and develop team members to achieve positive results.

• Use internal tools and external networking to recruit top talent.

• Coach and counsel associates based on performance.

• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and communicative work environment.

• Maintain strong relationships with the Store Manager, peers, and Area/ District Managers.

Operations (30%)

• Support the execution of company operational processes and digital strategies (e.g., SFS, SDD, BOPIS).

• Assist in inventory management, shipment processing, and payroll budgeting.

• Ensure proper scheduling and compliance with opening/closing procedures.

• Follow through with company directives and special assignments.

Safety & Loss Prevention (10%)

• Maintain a safe store environment for customers and employees.

• Ensure compliance with loss prevention protocols (e.g., shrink control, banking procedures, HAZMAT training).

• Use reporting tools and data analysis to protect company assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Minimum 3+ years of retail/customer service experience preferred.

• At least 1 year of management or leadership experience preferred.

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Strong communication, team leadership, and organizational skills.

• Cosmetology license is a plus, but not required.

• Well-lit, climate-controlled environment typical of retail settings.
