Reports To

General Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in all aspects of club operations, ensuring members receive top-tier service, and staff are motivated and high-performing. This role plays a key part in achieving sales goals, maintaining operational standards, and cultivating a positive club environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 4+ years of management experience required

• Fitness industry experience preferred

• Current CPR certification required

Core Responsibilities

Club Operations

• Maintain club cleanliness, safety, and operational standards

• Support daily functions across departments

• Handle member concerns in a timely, professional manner

• Ensure opening/closing procedures and checklists are followed

Staff Leadership

• Recruit, train, and mentor club staff

• Promote a positive, team-oriented culture

• Hold regular team meetings and provide feedback

• Ensure all employees follow company policies and procedures

Sales & Member Engagement

• Drive new membership growth through promotions and lead generation

• Motivate staff to meet or exceed monthly sales goals

• Monitor sales performance and assist in creating action plans

• Ensure members have a consistently excellent experience

Financial & Administrative Support

• Assist with payroll, expense control, and inventory management

• Understand and manage budget goals

• Report on revenue and KPIs to the General Manager

Performance Expectations

• Achieve or exceed financial and sales goals

• Maintain high standards for service and club presentation

• Demonstrate consistent leadership and professionalism

• Ensure timely completion of tasks and team accountability

• Foster member retention and satisfaction

Meeting Requirements

• Weekly team and department meetings

• Daily check-ins with key staff

• Monthly performance reviews

• Regular one-on-one coaching with team members
