Job Title: Technical Designer – Handbags

General Summary

The Technical Designer – Handbags plays a key role in bringing designs to life by generating accurate tech packs, managing sample revisions, and ensuring production aligns with the original vision. This role requires strong technical knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with designers, factories, and production teams to uphold the integrity, quality, and fit of all handbag designs.

Major Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed tech packs for all handbag designs.

• Update and revise technical specifications to reflect design changes.

• Finalize specs in preparation for production handoff.

• Assemble visual line plans to support seasonal design strategy.

• Generate Excel spreadsheets to manage sample tracking and factory communication.

• Develop seasonal material cards for internal and vendor use.

• Liaise with factories daily during the development phase for updates, follow-ups, and sample tracking.

• Coordinate and manage sample requests across sales and production departments.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of technical design experience in handbags (required).

  • Prior experience working directly with overseas factories is a plus.

• Education:

  • Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design preferred.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Strong CAD skills with the ability to create accurate and detailed handbag technical specs.

  • Experience with hardware specification and functionality is preferred.

• Soft Skills:

  • Keen eye for detail to review and comment on factory samples.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000
