Job Summary of Backup Aide:

Support teachers in orchestrating instructional engagements, maintaining classroom discipline, and offering individualized assistance to students. Foster students’ academic and personal growth, particularly focusing on those with exceptional needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Backup Aide:

• Deliver personalized educational support to students either individually or in small groups.
• Assist in fostering a positive learning environment through the effective management of the classroom.
• Help with preparing materials and supporting administrative tasks.
• Provide supervision for students in varying school premises, such as lunch halls, outdoor play areas, and field excursions.
• Aid students in accordance with the tailored provisions detailed in their IEPs or 504 Plans.
• Support students in addressing their academic, personal, and emotional needs.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the teacher or school administration.

Qualifications and Experience of Backup Aide:

• One of the basic educational credentials needed is a high school diploma or GED.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
