About the Role

The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of high-volume bakery products in accordance with standardized recipes. Under the supervision of the Bakery Manager, this role also includes maintaining sanitation standards and supporting other bakery operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake bakery products using company-approved recipes and procedures

• Ensure quality, freshness, and presentation of all baked goods

• Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently

• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and bakery department areas

• Rotate stock and monitor inventory as needed

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

• Perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods

• Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

What You'll Bring

• Familiarity with baking methods and kitchen equipment (preferred)

• Ability to read and follow recipes accurately

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Ability to lift and move heavy items frequently (up to 60 lbs.)

• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification (required)

• Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is based in a fast-paced grocery store setting. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Visual and auditory capabilities are essential for safety and communication.
