What You'll Do

As a Bakery Clerk, you'll provide excellent customer service and support daily bakery operations, including stocking, cleaning, order preparation, and assisting customers with purchases and special orders.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist customers with bakery items and special orders
Stock and rotate self-serve displays in and around the bakery
Maintain clean shelves, displays, and floors (including washing with soap and water)
Work with the Baker to determine which items need baking or decorating
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Lift, carry, and move merchandise (up to 60 lbs as needed)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Ability to read and follow basic instructions and product labels
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Physically able to stand, walk, lift, kneel, and bend for extended periods
Must possess or obtain a valid Food Handler Card

Preferred:

Basic PC/Outlook skills
Retail Management Certificate
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role requires working in a fast-paced grocery setting. Physical requirements include lifting, standing, kneeling, and regular movement throughout the department. Visual and auditory capabilities are essential.
