Job Description:

Aerotek desires an experienced and meticulous Die Cast Mechanic with a unique attention to detail to join its dynamic set of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, maintenance, and repair of die-casting machines to ensure optimum efficiency and the production of high-standard components. The job requirements include adequate knowledge of mechanical systems, specific attention to detail, and an unshaken commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Effective communication is essential during the machine setup and operation process to ensure that all individuals involved in the process are on the same page and aware of their roles and responsibilities:

• Install and prepare the die-casting machines in accordance with the directions provided and confirm their readiness for the production process.
• Modify the machine parameters to produce parts that adhere to the desired dimensions and quality standards.
• Perform multiple test runs and tweak the machinery settings to optimize its operation.

Maintenance and Repair:

• To maintain the optimal performance of die-casting machines, it is necessary to perform routine maintenance activities.
• An efficient way of reducing downtime is by quickly and accurately identifying and repairing mechanical issues as they occur.
• Remove or repair tired or faulty pieces, such as dies, machine components, and molds.

Quality Control:

• Check the production process to ensure that all parts adhere to the prescribed quality rules and regulations.
• Conduct quality checks on the finished goods for defects and make adjustments to the machinery as needed.
• The exact maintenance of records related to machine performance, maintenance tasks, and quality inspections is extremely important.

Safety and Compliance:

• Comply with safety procedures and regulations to promote a safe working environment.
• Guarantee that the machinery and equipment meet the industry regulatory standards.
• Any safety concerns or incidents should be reported to your supervisor immediately to ensure a prompt response and resolution.

Continuous Improvement:

• Conduct regular machine inspections to identify areas for improvement, potential malfunctions, and opportunities for preventive maintenance.
• Work in tandem with the engineering and production divisions to introduce changes in the process.
• Keep your knowledge updated on the newest developments in die-casting technology and methodology.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent, though those with technical or vocational expertise in mechanics or related fields are preferred.
• Demonstrable proficiency as a Die Casting Mechanic or related role in an industrial setting.
• Expert in mechanical systems with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
• To excel in a technical job, one must have the ability to effectively read and interpret highly technical documents like blueprints and manuals.
• Efficient and secure handling of hand and power tools is a necessary competency needed for success in several industries.
