CNC Programmer

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical blueprints and engineering designs to develop precise CNC machine programs. Your role will involve optimizing machining processes, testing and fine-tuning machine settings, and troubleshooting any issues to ensure high-quality output.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand technical blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings to grasp the exact specifications for a part.
• Translate specifications into a series of instructions (G-code) for the CNC machine using programming software.
• Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and select the correct cutting tools.
• Set precise speeds and feed rates for optimal cutting and material removal.
• Simulate or run tests on programs to ensure they are error-free and produce the desired components accurately.
• Make manual adjustments to machine settings and program parameters to meet exact specifications.
• Identify and resolve problems during the manufacturing process and look for ways to increase production efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in CNC programming and G-code.
• Experience with Mastercam, Solidworks, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of GD&T and program editing.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of vertical milling and boring mill operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with tooling set-up and precision machining.
• Familiarity with trigonometry and precision grinding.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, well-lit, and non-temperature controlled shop. Our environment is laid back with a highly organized tool room. We operate a single shift from 6 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with optional half-day Saturdays. Currently, we have 8 machinists and aim to expand to 12. Recently, a lightly used boring mill has been installed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
