Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary of Commercial Refrigeration Technician:

This position is tasked with the upkeep and repair of HVAC-R systems in a variety of specialized equipment within a specific cluster of 7-Eleven stores. Store-initiated service requests are funneled through 7Help work orders to the designated technician. The Area Facilities Manager serves as the direct manager for this role.

Responsibilities of Commercial Refrigeration Technician:

• Responds to service orders encompassing a wide array of in-store equipment, which may involve minor HVAC and refrigeration repairs, as well as tasks related to maintaining cold beverage equipment like tea machines, fountain machines, FBD, FCB, creamer machines, as well as ice makers in the backroom and fountain area
• Deals with work orders linked to plumbing, electrical systems, and general upkeep requests
• Engages in preventive maintenance tasks for a diverse array of equipment such as telecommunication lines, refrigerators, lights, signs, and pumps to prevent breakdowns and maintain functionality
• Manages and categorizes daily workloads and obligations
• Equipment will receive minor repairs as necessary, which could involve hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, and other items
• Accountable for the procurement and maintenance of truck parts inventory
• Consistently fills out required paperwork each day to verify the utilization of parts and time
• Observes machinery to determine whether servicing or additional actions are necessary
• Familiarity with HVAC installation, problem-solving, maintenance, and repair
• Capability in employing both manual and powered tools suitable for the job at hand
• Familiarity with recovering refrigerant and ensuring its proper disposal is a valuable skill set
• Competence in performing preventive maintenance in accordance with published standards
• Competence in interpreting and executing safety guidelines
• The capacity to utilize computer-based monitoring/control equipment for HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting highlights the importance of possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Manage the assignment of tasks and the oversight of direct service providers in the HVAC field. Follow and implement both spoken and written instructions accurately. Establish and nurture cooperative relationships within the work environment
• Aid in the instruction of less experienced technicians as the situation demands. Display the skill to operate independently and with minimal guidance. Understand the proper and safe techniques for brazing refrigerant lines and components. Accomplish other designated tasks, including special projects, as instructed by management

Qualification of Commercial Refrigeration Technician:

• A high school diploma or GED is the preferred qualification for this position
• A wealth of knowledge gained from many years in a management role
• A valid EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal) signifies competency in handling related job duties
• Practice leadership on a daily basis to enhance your leadership capabilities
• Peer to peer assistance in the tech field involves a community-based approach where users can rely on each other for troubleshooting and problem-solving

• Having the capability to oversee and manage a team
