Equipment Finance Representative IV

About the Role

The Commercial Equipment Finance Representative IV is responsible for sourcing, developing, and managing equipment leasing relationships within defined territories and products. This role handles the largest and most complex leasing transactions while providing mentorship and guidance to junior representatives. The position requires strong financial expertise, market knowledge, and the ability to structure profitable and competitive lease solutions.

General Function

• Solicit, develop, and manage leasing relationships with both new and existing clients.

• Structure and execute complex equipment lease transactions tailored to customer needs.

• Serve as a senior-level advisor and trainer for less experienced leasing representatives.

• Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while balancing profitability and risk.

• Drive long-term relationship growth with senior executives, clients, and strategic partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Initiate new business development by cultivating and maintaining multiple sources of prospects.

• Meet with clients to explain leasing services, structures, pricing, and contractual terms.

• Conduct financial due diligence, including background checks and credit risk assessments, to determine lessee eligibility.

• Coordinate with appraisal teams to evaluate equipment, determine acceptable lease structures, and assess tax, residual, and pricing risks.

• Prepare and present competitive lease quotes ensuring profitability and compliance with market standards.

• Structure and design lease agreements that align customer needs with bank profitability goals.

• Manage ongoing client relationships, proactively addressing changes in market dynamics and competitive pressures.

• Collaborate with internal tax, credit, and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

• Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• 7+ years of experience in equipment finance or leasing, including sourcing, structuring, and closing complex lease transactions.

• Strong financial acumen, including knowledge of FASB 13, financial statement analysis, cash flow, balance sheet, and P&L impacts of leasing.

• Excellent organizational, marketing, and presentation skills with proven ability to build long-term client relationships.

• Independent self-starter with strong business development and proactive sales skills.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, with executive-level presence.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and lease pricing software.

• Expertise with HP12C or HP17B financial calculator.
