Excavation Equipment Operator

Job Description

Aerotek, is looking for competent Excavation Equipment Operator. The job involves operating heavy machinery on various construction sites, where you will be tasked with using equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, and front end loaders to complete both coarse and fine grading jobs.

The job entails operating complex machinery like excavators, graders, bulldozers, among others. This requires excellent spatial maneuvering skills and the ability to observe and follow project specifications. It further demands adherence to safety measures and mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Skills

An excavator operates by using a boom arm to reach, scoop, and dump materials, which can be controlled by the operator through joysticks and foot pedals

The operation of bulldozers involves the driver sitting in an elevated seat and using controls to move the machine’s large blade

A motor grader is a heavy-duty machine that is used for grading and leveling of various surfaces. It operates by using a rotating blade that is fixed underneath the machine's frame

Every task requires a high level of precision and thoroughness, reminding us of the importance of paying close attention to details

Work Environment

Typically, individuals work for 40-50 hours per week, which runs from Monday to Friday. The workday usually begins at 7 am, concluding at 5 pm. Nonetheless, some flexibility is expected, and one may have to work on weekends, depending on the prevailing weather.
