Job Description:

Aerotek is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Die Cast Mechanic to become a part of its dynamic team. The primary responsibilities shall be to set up and maintain die-casting machines and provide repairs as required to maximize efficiency and ensure high-quality output. Responsibilities:

The complexity of the setup and operation process can vary depending on the type and purpose of the machine being used:

• Organize the die-casting devices in accordance with given specifications and verify their readiness for the commencement of the manufacturing procedure.
• Adjust the equipment settings to ensure the parts have the required measurements and desired quality outcomes.
• Put the machine through a series of simulations and adjust its settings as needed to achieve peak performance.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Preventive maintenance is crucial for die-casting machines, and it involves carrying out regular inspections and repairs to avert potential breakdowns.
• Mitigate the amount of disruption caused by mechanical issues by promptly troubleshooting and repairing them.
• Replace or mend impaired or defective components, such as machine parts, molds, and dies.

Quality Control:

• Keep track of the production process to confirm that every part is manufactured as per the set quality standards and specifications.
• Scrutinize the end products for any flaws and make alterations to the equipment accordingly.
• Keeping meticulous records of machinery performance, regular service, and quality checks is an absolute necessity.

Safety and Compliance:

• Make sure to follow all safety measures and guidelines to ensure a risk-free workplace.
• Confirm that the machines and equipment are in line with the industry-approved standards and regulations.
• Make sure to inform your supervisor immediately of any safety concerns or events that could pose a threat to you or others.

Continuous Improvement:

• Evaluate operating procedures and identify areas for improvement, such as reducing waste or minimizing energy consumption, which can lead to cost savings and boost efficiency.
• Collaborate with the engineering and manufacturing departments to implement process upgrades.
• Stay in the loop regarding the latest advancements in die-casting technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

• A technical or vocational qualification in mechanics or related fields is highly desirable, but candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Confirmed experience as a Die Casting Technician or comparable job in a manufacturing plant.
• Possesses exceptional mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting proficiency for resolving technical issues.
• A professional who is skillful in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints has a significant advantage over his or her colleagues who struggle with these documents.
• Possessing the knowledge to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently is a fundamental proficiency that is highly sought after.
• Possessing an exceptional ability to meticulously scrutinize each element while devoting oneself to achieving top-notch output.
• Having a knack for working well with others and communicating efficiently is a valuable asset.

Physical Requirements:

• Competence to move and relocate weighty industrial machinery parts and apparatus.
• Proficiency to sustain stable footing, hunch forward, and sit on the heels for a considerable time.
