Housekeeper

Job Description:

In addition to washing dishes and cooking, Housekeepers provide room services to guests such as delivering food to their rooms

Assigned with the duty of maintaining a hygienic atmosphere within the hospital, the attendant ensures that all areas assigned are free of contaminants:

• The use of suitable cleaning procedures ensures that all interior furnishings remain hygienic and clean.
• Floor care and maintenance in designated areas are maintained through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and dusting.
• The obligation of shifting, removing, and discarding unsanitary cloths, garbage, and potentially infectious medical waste.
• Maintaining adequate supply levels in the assigned areas to avoid any risk of running out of stock.
• Engaging in quality improvement programs offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to implement evidence-based practices.
• Reporting necessary repairs or services for hospital facilities ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Carrying out unique cleaning activities as necessary.

Job Type:

• If you accept a contract-to-hire position, you'll typically have a 90-day window to demonstrate your skills and show that you're a good fit for the role

Work Environment:

• The post requires flexibility in scheduling, with an emphasis on daytime openings and substitute coverage.
• The schedule for the day shift includes working from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Swing shift includes the work hours of 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM or 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, depending on the organization
• The Environmental Services Department (EVS) is responsible for ensuring sanitation and safety in the hospital surrounding.
• The goal is to clean and disinfect all surfaces, following the policies that foster a healthy and secure setting for all individuals associated with the medical institution.
• Wearing black scrubs and non-slip shoes is imperative according to the dress code. In the first week of work, each worker is provided with two shirts and a badge. All equipment and borrowed items should be returned at the end of the day or by the next working day, in case of termination.
