Role and Responsibilities of Inventory Receiving Clerk:

As a DSD Inventory Receiving Clerk, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.

• Sustain an enthusiastic customer-centric ambiance by delivering quick, welcoming, and precise service.
• Be courteous and offer helpful guidance to your coworkers.
• Ensure the protection of company assets through the careful management of receiving and returning DSD merchandise.
• Follow the vendor receiving procedures as stipulated by Food Lion.
• Partner with suppliers to tackle errors, breaches of guidelines, or an overflow of products.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Store Manager to make sure that vendor promotions are carried out in a timely manner.
• Ensure the timely and effective execution of the merchandising notes on a weekly schedule.
• Validate the precision of DSD plan-o-grams.
• Document and file DSD tickets on a daily and weekly basis, as well as invoices for beer and wine purchases.
• Confirm that all EDI invoices have been reconciled and there are no pending dues.
• Administer appropriate procedures for reclaiming items and addressing damages.
• Execute tasks linked to the Chief Administrative Officer role, including organizing and rotating cigarette carton stocks.
• Harness the potential of in-house solutions including ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and CAO purchasing software.
• Follow the guidelines, policies, and conventional methods set forth by the company.
• Maintain a commitment to upholding standards for food and workplace safety, making corrections as needed to enhance overall safety.
• Comply with Food Lion procedures by informing the Manager on Duty about any accidents that occur with associates or customers.
• Make sure to meet the requirements outlined by local, state, and federal laws to remain compliant.
• Dress in the approved Food Lion attire and showcase your name badge in a well-groomed and professional style.
• Skillfully pass Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses.
• Execute any further duties as may be assigned.

Required Skills and Experience of Inventory Receiving Clerk:

• High school graduation or an equivalent level of education is preferred.
• Skilled in interpersonal interactions, organizational tasks, communication, and client service.
• Willingness and capability to learn a range of tasks and meet technical job specifications.
• Demonstrating proficiency in addressing problems through technical means.
• Meeting the age requirements is a prerequisite for being able to engage in the functions relevant to the job.
• Aptitude to satisfy the physical prerequisites of the position, whether accommodations are needed or not.

Physical Requirements of Inventory Receiving Clerk:

• Competent in utilizing computers and other communication tools needed to perform job duties effectively.
• Carry out iterative motions involving the hands and arms.
• Continuously bend and raise objects weighing up to 15 lbs., frequently handle 25 lbs., and occasionally manage 50 lbs. loads.
• Occasionally exert force to push or lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Maintain a standing position and regularly walk short distances.
• Deal with substances related to the sanitation of cleaning and packaging materials, fresh produce, botanicals, and household disinfectants.
• Continuously handle currency and utilize machinery like registers, lottery terminals, scanners, computers, and calculators.
• Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
• Achieve the required productivity levels set for the position.
• Work in intense heat or cold environments for a duration of up to 20 minutes as per requirements.
• Have the required visual capability to examine IDs, checks, invoices, and other written records effectively.
