Job Description:

The primary responsibility of an Janitorial Attendant is to ensure that dishes are clean and ready for use

The attendant follows strict job standards to ensure that the hospital is a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors:

• Using appropriate cleaning tactics, all surfaces, walls, and furnishings are kept free of dirt and grime.
• The cleaning of floors in designated areas is accomplished through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and dusting to ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained.
• The role of moving, taking off, and disposing of tainted fabrics, refuse, and potentially infectious biological waste.
• Making sure that assigned locations have sufficient stocks of supplies to avoid any delays or interruptions in services.
• Participating in continuous quality improvement activities provides healthcare professionals with a platform to collaborate and share best practices.
• Quick action must be taken when repairs are needed in hospital facilities to minimize disruptions in the provision of health care.
• Fulfilling exceptional cleaning responsibilities as required.

Work Environment:

• Such a function requires flexibility in working hours, with an emphasis on day shifts with backup duties.
• Generally, the day shift covers the hours between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM
• The swing shift encompasses the working hours from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM or 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM
• The Environmental Services Department (EVS) guarantees that the hospital environment is safe and hygienic.
• The duty is to cleanse and sanitize all surfaces according to the standards that safeguard patients, visitors, and staff from the risks posed by harmful microorganisms.
• Staff members must adhere to the dress code, which mandates the use of black scrubs and non-slip shoes. During the early days of employment, two shirts and a badge are presented to the attendant. The worker is responsible for returning any company items used during the task by the end of their shift or within a 24-hour notice.
