Position Summary

The Lead Sales Representative is a key driver of store performance, serving as a leader on the salesfloor. You combine exceptional selling skills, operational expertise, and people leadership to create an outstanding guest experience. Acting as a mentor and role model, you support team members in achieving sales goals, maintaining brand standards, and delivering a best-in-class shopping experience. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and a passion for the brand.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Performance

• Drive individual and team sales by actively engaging guests, making product recommendations, and upselling when appropriate.

• Monitor and track key performance metrics, including conversion rates, average transaction value, and loyalty program enrollments.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to associates to help them improve selling techniques and achieve their sales goals.

• Lead by example on the salesfloor, demonstrating the AEO Selling Model and best practices.

• Support the execution of sales initiatives, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.

Guest Experience

• Ensure every guest receives a personalized, memorable shopping experience.

• Resolve guest concerns and issues promptly and professionally, following company policies and procedures.

• Educate guests about products, styling options, and loyalty programs to encourage repeat business.

• Maintain a welcoming and approachable presence on the salesfloor at all times.

Team Development & Mentorship

• Act as a mentor for new and existing associates, providing feedback, guidance, and skill development opportunities.

• Encourage a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture (#AEOFamily).

• Recognize and celebrate team successes to drive engagement and motivation.

• Assist Store Leadership in identifying and developing top-performing talent.

Operational Excellence

• Support day-to-day store operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and floor organization.

• Assist in monitoring stock levels, replenishment, and execution of Floorsets and seasonal resets.

• Ensure operational and visual standards are consistently maintained throughout the store.

• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, asset protection standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven retail or sales experience with demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or team support.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and motivating others.

• Goal-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.

• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in sales or management is a plus.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Skills

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.

• Strong product knowledge and ability to communicate features and benefits effectively.

• Proficiency with POS systems and retail technology tools.

• Leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, or managing a retail team.
