Job Description:

Aerotek is in search of a qualified and competent Die Cast Mechanic with an eye for detail to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate shall take charge of setting up, maintaining, and fixing die-casting machines to ensure they run smoothly and produce high-quality products. The role requires robust knowledge of mechanical systems, strong attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Machine setup and operation include a variety of tasks, including the installation of hardware and software, calibration of components, and safety checks:

• Configure and set up the die-casting machines according to the prescribed parameters and guarantee their preparedness for production.
• Adapt the machine settings to obtain the required part dimensions and quality specifications.
• Conduct a range of assessments and make appropriate modifications to ensure the machine functions optimally.

Maintenance and Repair:

• It is essential to conduct routine maintenance checks on die-casting machines to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently.
• To maintain maximum operational efficiency, promptly address mechanical issues with effective troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Repair or switch out wear and tear or dysfunctional parts, for instance, molds, machine components, and dies.

Quality Control:

• Supervise the manufacturing process to verify that all components meet the quality criteria and specifications.
• Inspect the final products for faults and adjust the machines whenever necessary.
• The maintenance of accurate records concerning machine performance, quality inspections, and maintenance activities is vital.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety policies and regulations to maintain a safe working atmosphere.
• Check that the machinery and equipment comply with the established industry standards and regulations.
• In case you become aware of any safety concerns or accidents that could potentially harm anyone, it is important to report them immediately to your supervisor.

Continuous Improvement:

• Invest in regular maintenance and upkeep of machines to prevent breakdowns and unplanned downtime, which can affect product quality.
• Partner with the engineering and production teams to integrate process improvements.
• Keep yourself knowledgeable about the most modern innovations in die-casting technology and methods.

Qualifications:

• Although a high school diploma or an equivalent is mandatory, those with vocational or technical training in mechanics or related fields are preferred for this position.
• Established history as a Die Casting Operator or a similar position in a production facility.
• Highly skilled in mechanical troubleshooting with a strong aptitude for technical systems.
• The skill of reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints differentiates professionals in the industrial and technical field from amateurs.
• The capacity to proficiently and safely handle hand and power tools is a crucial ability demanded in numerous professional settings.
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of meticulousness and a resolute determination to produce superior work.
• Being able to communicate effectively and work productively with others is a huge advantage.
• The skill to efficiently handle various tasks and work without supervision.

Physical Requirements:

• Aptitude to hoist and transfer massive machinery components and tools.
• Skill to sustain standing, bowing, and kneeling positions for prolonged periods.
