Role and Responsibilities of Perishable Department Associate:

As a Perishable Department Associate, your tasks will involve ensuring that quality criteria are achieved, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering sales growth while minimizing perishable product loss. It is crucial to create a positive shopping environment, adhere to company policies, and ensure compliance with food safety standards in this position.

• Sustain a culture of eager customer recognition, emphasizing swift, genial, and precise service.
• Extend courteous and beneficial support to coworkers.
• Take advantage of organizational tools like the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering systems such as Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Handle incoming deliveries, input codes where necessary, rotate merchandise, and store them appropriately.
• Verify that merchandise is handled, processed, and showcased in accordance with the established regulations of the company.
• Manage inventory levels for meat, cold cuts, frozen items, dairy goods, and ice cream to meet demand.
• Prepare beef and grind it according to the specified guidelines provided in the production tool.
• Wrap, tag, assess, and arrange meat accordingly.
• Assemble, disassemble, and sanitize grinders according to the cleaning schedule.
• Uphold standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the department, while also ensuring diversity and layout requirements are met.
• Verify that advertisements and promotional items are in line with legal requirements.
• Observe and follow all Food Lion guidelines, policies, and customary procedures.
• Comply with the standards set in place for ensuring safety in both food handling and workplace conditions.
• Identify unsafe conditions, make corrections, and inform the Manager on Duty.
• Follow all local, state, and federal guidelines to remain compliant.
• Maintain a professional appearance by donning the Food Lion uniform, complete with an apron and a name badge, to uphold the company's standards.
• Fulfill training obligations by engaging in Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Execute tasks as delegated by superiors.

Required Skills and Experience of Perishable Department Associate:

• A high school diploma or equivalent certification is preferred for this position.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer care expertise.
• Aptitude and eagerness to grasp multiple responsibilities and technical job prerequisites.
• Employing technical data to find solutions.
• Fulfilling the minimum age requirements is a fundamental aspect of being able to perform the job tasks.
• Demonstrating the capacity to handle the physical aspects of the position, with or without reasonable assistance.

Physical Requirements of Perishable Department Associate:

• Make use of computers and additional communication systems when required.
