Role and Responsibilities of Perishable Stock Clerk:

As a Perishable Stock Clerk, you will ensure quality standards are met, provide outstanding customer service, and support sales growth while reducing shrink. Your responsibilities include creating a positive shopping environment, following company practices, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

• Encourage a climate of enthusiastic customer mindfulness centered on swift, personable, and precise service.
• Offer courteous and valuable assistance to fellow associates.
• Utilize tools available within the company such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering options like Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Receive incoming deliveries, apply codes where applicable, rotate items, and store them properly.
• Verify that the rules and regulations of the company are adhered to in the process of ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and displaying merchandise.
• Maintain proper quantities of products in the meat, deli meat, frozen food, dairy, and ice cream categories.
• Perform beef processing and grinding procedures according to the planned production tool specifications.
• Package, tag, weigh, and organize meat as directed.
• To maintain cleanliness, grinders should be assembled, disassembled, and cleaned when required.
• Follow sanitation procedures to clean and disinfect the department, all while preserving layout and variety specifications.
• Ensure adherence to regulations in advertising and promotional materials.
• Adhere to the prescribed guidelines, policies, and standard practices of Food Lion.
• Comply with the guidelines set forth for ensuring safety in both food-related tasks and workplace practices.
• Be vigilant in identifying and addressing unsafe conditions, and notify the Manager on Duty accordingly.
• Ensure that all activities align with local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
• It is essential to wear the Food Lion uniform, an apron, and a name badge to keep a professional and organized appearance.
• Abide by the training mandate, notably by completing Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience of Perishable Stock Clerk:

• High school graduates or those with an equivalent qualification are preferred for this opportunity.
• Displays exceptional abilities in interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service sectors.
• Ability and interest in acquiring various skills and technical competencies required for the job.
• Applying technical data in problem-solving scenarios.
• It is necessary to meet the specified age thresholds in order to carry out the job functions.
• Meeting the physical qualifications of the position, with the option for reasonable accommodations if required.

Physical Requirements of Perishable Stock Clerk:

• Use computers and other communication tools as necessary.
• Carry out recurrent movements with the hands and arms.
• Stay prepared to bend and lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, handle loads of 25 lbs. frequently, and occasionally lift items weighing 50 lbs.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Keep on your feet all the time with consistent walking breaks.
• Direct the substances utilized for cleaning and packaging supplies.
• The action of extending and grasping items is frequently done at waist level, with occasional variations in the reach above or below.
• Adhere to the specified activity targets.
• Function in environments of either extreme heat or cold for periods no longer than 20 minutes.
