Role and Responsibilities of Perishable Team Member:

In the capacity of a Perishable Team Member, you will be tasked with upholding quality standards, providing top-tier customer service, and supporting sales expansion efforts while reducing waste. It is crucial to establish a positive shopping environment, adhere to corporate practices, and ensure adherence to food safety standards.

• Preserve a mood of vibrant customer attentiveness, prioritizing rapid, amicable, and accurate service.
• Deliver polite and constructive assistance to colleagues.
• Utilize tools within the company such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering mechanisms like Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Assume responsibility for accepting deliveries, coding products where necessary, rotating stock, and storing them correctly.
• Confirm that the measures taken for the procurement, acceptance, preparation, arrangement, and presentation of products align with the company's policies.
• Monitor and regulate stock levels for meat products, lunch meats, frozen items, dairy goods, and ice cream.
• Grind and process beef based on the instructions outlined in the designated production tool.
• Bundle, mark, weigh, and store meat as instructed.
• Ensure that grinders are assembled, disassembled, and sanitized regularly.
• Make sure the department is cleaned and sanitized properly, all while keeping in line with layout and diversity standards.
• Guarantee that advertising and promotional materials follow regulatory mandates.
• Adhere to the guidelines, policies, and standard practices stipulated by Food Lion.
• Maintain adherence to the specified protocols for guaranteeing safety in both food-related activities and workplace environments.
• Detect, remedy, and raise awareness about unsafe conditions with the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure that all operations meet the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations.
• Present yourself in a professional manner by wearing the Food Lion uniform, accompanied by an apron and a name badge, to reflect the company's image.
• Meet the training requirements by participating in Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Undertake supplementary responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills and Experience of Perishable Team Member:

• Preference is given to those who have graduated high school or hold an equivalent qualification.
• Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer relations capabilities.
• Willingness and ability to adapt to and learn various tasks and technical aspects of the job.
• Applying technical information to resolve difficulties.
• Meeting the age prerequisites is a key factor in being able to undertake the job responsibilities effectively.
• Having the competence to satisfy the physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations as appropriate.

Physical Requirements of Perishable Team Member:

• Employ computers and other essential communication systems as needed.
• Perform iterative hand and arm movements.
• Continuously handle bending and lifting tasks involving objects up to 15 lbs., regularly lift loads of up to 25 lbs., and occasionally manage items weighing 50 lbs.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stay upright without sitting down and include regular walks into your routine.
• Supervise the substances involved in cleaning and packaging processes.
• The regular task of reaching and holding objects is typically done at waist level, sometimes requiring reaching above or below.
• Attain the prescribed standards of work output.
• Handle job responsibilities in temperatures of extreme hotness or coldness for up to 20 minutes at a time.

Preferred Qualifications of Perishable Team Member:

• It is beneficial to have prior experience in retail or perishable department operations.
