We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmaceutical Assistant to join our team. As a Pharmaceutical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in various tasks related to medication dispensing, inventory management, and customer service. Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing: Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Label and package medications according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.

2. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medication supplies. Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

3. Prescription Processing: Receive and process prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers. Enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system accurately and verify insurance information as needed.

4. Customer Service: Greet customers and assist them with inquiries, prescription pickups, and over-the-counter medication purchases. Provide friendly and courteous service, answer phone calls, and address customer concerns or questions professionally.

5. Medication Reconciliation: Assist with medication reconciliation processes, including reviewing medication lists, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with patients and healthcare providers to resolve issues.

6. Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and record-keeping. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and prescription records in compliance with privacy regulations.

7. Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and compliance with regulatory standards. Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of medications, hazardous materials, and waste.

Requirements:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework or certification in pharmacy technology or a related field preferred.

2. Experience: Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred but not required. On-the-job training provided.

3. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, such as medication counting, labeling, and data entry.

4. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and team members.

5. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
