Receiving Associate

Role and Responsibilities:

As a DSD Receiving Associate, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Provide courteous and helpful support to other associates.
• Protect company assets through accurate receipt and return of DSD products.
• Execute vendor receiving policies established by Food Lion.
• Work with vendors to address errors, policy violations, or excessive inventory.
• Coordinate with Assistant Store Manager to ensure vendor promotions are timely.
• Implement weekly merchandising notes efficiently.
• Verify accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams.
• Account for and file daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer and wine invoices.
• Reconcile EDI invoices to confirm there are no outstanding invoices.
• Handle all reclaim and damages properly.
• Conduct CAO activities, stock, and rotate cigarette cartons.
• Use company tools including ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and CAO ordering system.
• Maintain compliance with company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines; observe and correct unsafe conditions.
• Report associate and customer accidents per Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge, maintaining a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses successfully.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
• Problem-solving ability using technical information.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for job functions.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements:

• Proficient in using computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
• Bend and lift up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand for 100% of time while frequently walking short distances.
• Handle substances associated with cleaning/packaging materials, produce, plants/flowers, and household cleaners.
• Frequently/continuously handle currency and operate equipment such as registers, lottery machines, scanners, computers, and calculators.
• Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
• Meet productivity standards established for the position.
• Work in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes as required.
• Maintain sufficient visual ability to check IDs, checks, invoices, and other written documents.
