Role and Responsibilities of Receiving Clerk:

As a DSD Receiving Clerk, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.

• Cultivate a vibrant customer-oriented setting by providing speedy, kind, and precise assistance.
• Display a friendly attitude and provide support to your associates.
• Preserve company valuables by accurately documenting the receipt and return of DSD goods.
• Adhere to the vendor receiving policies set forth by Food Lion.
• Coordinate with vendors to deal with mistakes, policy infringements, or an excess of goods.
• Partner with the Assistant Store Manager to ensure the timely execution of vendor promotions.
• Optimize the implementation process of weekly merchandising guidelines for maximum efficiency.
• Double-check the DSD plan-o-grams for accuracy.
• Manage the processing and filing of daily and weekly DSD tickets, along with beer and wine invoices.
• Validate EDI invoices to verify that there are no unresolved invoices left.
• Properly manage the retrieval and compensation of goods and property.
• Manage the CAO functions by overseeing the stocking and rotation of cigarette cartons.
• Employ company-provided tools like ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and CAO ordering platform.
• Comply with the standards, rules, and customary behaviors expected within the organization.
• Abide by protocols for ensuring food safety and workplace safety, actively monitoring and resolving any unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to Food Lion policies by reporting both associate and customer accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Comply with the regulatory standards at the local, state, and federal levels to avoid any violations.
• Keep a tidy and professional demeanor by wearing the proper Food Lion uniform paired with a visible name badge.
• Achieve success in completing Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses.
• Undertake any other tasks as deemed necessary.

Required Skills and Experience of Receiving Clerk:

• Those with a high school diploma or its equal are preferred for this position.
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service competencies.
• Proficiency and motivation to understand multiple tasks and technical job prerequisites.
• Using technical information to enhance problem-solving capabilities.
• The job necessitates compliance with the specified age limits to execute the assigned tasks competently.
• Competence to fulfill the physical standards of the job, with or without reasonable changes.

Physical Requirements of Receiving Clerk:

• Proficient in the use of computers and other communication systems essential for job functions.
• Execute regular hand and arm actions repeatedly.
• Lift loads of 15 lbs. continuously, handle up to 25 lbs. frequently, and manage 50 lbs. occasionally with bending movements.
• The job may involve pushing or pulling items that weigh up to 75 lbs. sometimes.
• Stand continuously and take frequent walks over short distances.
• Work with substances involved in the cleansing and preservation of packaging materials, fruits, floral arrangements, and household cleaning products.
• Frequently engage in cash handling tasks while operating equipment such as registers, lottery machines, scanners, computers, and calculators.
• Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
• Fulfill the productivity criteria established for the role.
• Complete job responsibilities in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, for a period of up to 20 minutes as demanded.
• Retain proper eyesight to review IDs, checks, invoices, and any other written papers that may be necessary.
