Refrigeration Mechanic

Job Summary of Refrigeration Mechanic:

The role involves maintaining and repairing HVAC-R systems for a range of specialized equipment found in a set of 7-Eleven stores. Service requests are submitted through 7Help work orders by store staff and assigned to the relevant technician. Supervision for this position is provided by the Area Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities of Refrigeration Mechanic:

• Processes work orders related to in-store equipment, varying from minor HVAC and refrigeration repairs to the servicing of cold beverage equipment such as tea machines, fountain machines, FBD, FCB, creamer machines, and ice makers located in backrooms or near the fountain area
• Attends to maintenance requests involving plumbing, electrical work, and general upkeep tasks
• Carries out scheduled maintenance duties on structures and equipment like dispensers, POS machines, computers, and security systems to uphold their performance levels and prevent unexpected failures
• Coordinates and ranks daily duties and responsibilities based on importance
• When needed, equipment will undergo minor repairs such as fixing hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, and related components
• Responsible for overseeing the purchasing and upkeep of truck component stock
• Daily responsibility for completing reports and paperwork to monitor the usage of materials and labor accurately
• Inspects equipment with the aim of assessing if servicing or further action is required
• Competence in the fitting, troubleshooting, rectification, and maintenance of HVAC systems
• Adeptness in the application of hand and power tools essential for the job
• Knowing the proper techniques for extracting refrigerant and safely disposing of it is imperative
• Proficiency in executing preventative maintenance based on prescribed guidelines
• Acquaintance with HVAC systems and their associated computerized monitoring and control mechanisms
• Demonstrating expertise in utilizing computer-based monitoring/control tools for HVAC systems underscores the need for analytical and problem-solving proficiency to effectively manage system operations
• Direct the allocation of responsibilities and the supervision of direct service technicians specializing in HVAC. Comprehend and carry out verbal and written directives efficiently. Establish and uphold collaborative work connections with team members
• Support in the training of junior technicians when required. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Possess the necessary skills to braze refrigerant lines and components safely and effectively. Undertake other duties, including special projects, as allocated by management

Qualification of Refrigeration Mechanic:

• High School/GED Preferred YEARS OF RELEVANT
• 1years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
• NA CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: EPA 608 (Type I, II, or Universal) Certification SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND
• Show Leadership (Practice Leadership skills Daily)
• Peer to Peer Tech support
• Effective communication
• Projects/Stretch assignments
• Facility location ownership
• Ability to lead the team
