Job Title: Restaurant Cook

Are you passionate about food and love working in a fast-paced kitchen environment? El Super is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Restaurant Cook to join our in-store restaurant team. You’ll play a vital role in preparing delicious, high-quality food for our customers while upholding safety, cleanliness, and consistency standards.

Your Role as a Restaurant Cook

As a Restaurant Cook, you will report directly to the Restaurant Manager and help create an outstanding dining experience for every customer. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing ingredients and cooking meals according to established recipes and portion standards

• Operating a variety of kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and stovetops

• Following all food safety and sanitation practices to ensure safe preparation and handling of all products

• Maintaining product quality and presentation to meet company expectations

• Assisting customers at the counter with food orders and service

• Replenishing hot food stations and display cases as needed

• Cleaning and sanitizing cooking surfaces, equipment, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift

• Monitoring inventory levels and informing management of shortages or product needs

• Ensuring proper food storage and rotation of stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures

• Have a strong sense of teamwork and reliability

• Work with urgency and attention to detail in a high-volume kitchen

• Be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Have basic communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions

• Previous experience in a fast-food, quick-service, or restaurant kitchen environment is a plus

Required Certification

A valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for this role and must be maintained throughout employment.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, food odors, and sharp tools. The job may involve bending, stooping, lifting, and long hours on your feet. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to individuals with disabilities as needed.
