The Retail Branch Manager is accountable for overall store performance and must make decisions that align with the company's goals and objectives

Overall Job Summary:

The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in the Store by setting a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience. The Retail Branch Manager will ensure to have the Best Team and support their development, as well as work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for the Store Team based on results, values, and leadership. The Retail Branch Manager will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.

This position, reporting to our Area Sales Manager, encompasses managing a team that includes the Store Visual Manager (dependant on store volume), Department Manager, Department Supervisor (based on sales volume), Visual Merchandisers (based on sales volume), Cash Office Responsible (based on sales volume), and Sales Associate.

The Patterns of Daily Living

Sales and Profit

• Regularly evaluate Sales & Profit Key Performance Indicators and make necessary adjustments to drive success
• Uphold H&M operational standards and industry best practices through effective scheduling protocols that support sales maximization, event coordination, task management, and routine adherence while delivering top-notch customer service. Work within the prescribed labor hour budget to optimize operational efficiency and commercial success
• Partner with the Area and Store team to strategize actions and offer guidance on store allocations to secure a compelling product offering that leads to improved sales results
• Organize the maintenance of the store efficiently to meet H&M standards and initiate suitable actions as per the situation
• Efficiently prevent losses by partnering with the Store Team and abiding by all Audit guidelines
• Engage in executing store routines and tasks, including but not limited to dealing with the delivery truck, processing garments, making reductions, and updating prices as required

People and Teams

• Handle the oversight of recruitment, training, development, and succession planning for the Store in line with H&M’s recommended procedures
• Assess and manage the performance of Store Team members, carry out discussions, establish development plans, offer feedback, and conduct follow-ups, and implement measures to enhance performance to meet the business needs
• Establish a routine of clear and consistent communication within the Store team about Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Country/Sales Market/Area/Store objectives via regular Store Meetings and scheduled Leadership Meetings
• Follow H&M guidelines and local laws regarding health, safety, legal, and security concerns to safeguard the well-being of both employees and customers appropriately
• Energize our Company Culture by promoting the exchange of feedback in our daily duties and supporting the Store Team in adopting this collaborative approach

Financial Accountability

• Managing sales performance and driving profit margins is essential for the store
• Exact record-keeping of sales results and hours clocked

• Competence in climbing a ladder and employing a step stool for elevation purposes
• Offering flexibility for shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Those with more than two years of transferable experience directing management-level employees are welcome to apply
• One cannot function effectively in the modern age without basic computer skills, including browser navigation, software operation, and data entry
• Assistance for other stores, meeting attendance, and training involvement might necessitate occasional travel
