About the Retail Operations Supervisor Role:

As a Retail Operations Supervisor, you'll be the leader supporting and encouraging your whole team. By bringing everyone together, you'll be able to create an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit, helping you, your team, and H&M succeed. Ensuring an excellent operational & visual experience for your store, customers & colleagues. You'll be aware of your store's strengths, opportunities, and competitors. Analyze and follow up on sales, and create plans to optimize results and profits.

Retail Operations Supervisor responsibilities:

Effective management of customer sales and profit margins is integral to maintaining a competitive edge in the market

  • You are accountable for overseeing the overall customer experience in your store, ensuring that visual displays and commercial placements follow global guidelines
  • Demonstrating a positive representation of yourself and the H&M brand in customer dealings
  • Assume responsibility for the strengths present in your department and engage in the identification and pursuit of commercial opportunities to make strategic advancements
  • Develop and review sales and budget objectives, creating strategies to maximize results efficiently
  • Maintain a high standard of customer assistance in all store zones and empower your team to actively encourage and sell products to patrons
  • Your team is working diligently to promote our Customer Loyalty App, Hello Member, and sustainability initiatives at the in-store level
  • Run your division in a manner that maximizes resources and minimizes costs
  • Enforce proper procedures for using fitting rooms and conducting transactions, which encompass processing returns and facilitating exchanges
  • Guarantee that all administrative protocols for both individuals and functions are followed accordingly

Fashion and trend awareness encompass having a keen sense of what is currently in vogue and stylish

  • Stay current with the fashion sector by keeping track of trends, inclinations, styles, trademarks, products, competition, and relevant influencers
  • Have your team offer product and fashion expertise along with additional relevant information when engaging with customers

Team & Development

  • Accountable for recruiting, orienting, appraising, and advancing the skills of the workforce within the retail setting
  • Create and execute performance evaluations alongside succession plans to meet the business and team necessities efficiently
  • Uphold and convey your intelligence and skills to your team
  • Working in tandem with the in-store Visual Merchandiser team involves strategic planning and cooperative teamwork to enhance the store's visual appeal
  • Utilize feedback-sharing opportunities with coworkers as a way to learn, progress, and offer solidarity to one another
  • In charge of arranging and overseeing the team's timetable and agenda
  • Persistent communication with store associates to update, stimulate, and uplift their spirits by organizing daily or weekly discussions and gatherings
  • Uphold the observance of all procedures, routines, and legal requirements in every facet of the establishment
  • Attend the necessary onboarding and orientation activities, training courses, and relevant sessions that contribute to your role and future development

An integral part of retail operations is streamlining logistics and supply chain management, while visual and commercial execution focuses on implementing creative merchandising strategies to captivate consumers

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in both the front and back of the store, including stockrooms
  • Prioritize meticulous garment care to achieve high fashion standards, visually enticing product presentation, and effective commercial outcomes
  • - Ensure adequate stock levels and offer input on distribution plans for the Area team
  • Uphold our internal standards and procedures to guarantee a smooth garment cycle, beginning with the receipt of products through to their arrangement on the sales floor, and conduct fitting room activities in adherence to our set guidelines while leveraging the tools and technology provided
  • Implement proper upkeep and adhere to best practices for all in-store OMNI services, in-store tech tools, and resources like the Instore Care App, Click & Collect, and Smart Store features
  • Maintain a solid balance and ensure the display of price signs within the store and across the sales floor/store in accordance with guidelines based on global and local strategies & sales market/regional requirements to achieve a strong and consistent pricing perception throughout the store
  • Ensuring the tidiness and safety of back-of-house areas, providing key information and promoting a healthy work environment for colleagues
  • In charge of overseeing the daily opening and closing duties of the store
