Position Summary

The Retail Sales Lead is a key driver of store sales and team performance. You lead by example on the salesfloor, helping the team exceed sales goals while delivering an exceptional guest experience. You support store operations, mentor associates, and ensure brand standards are consistently maintained. This role requires a strong sales mindset, leadership skills, and a passion for coaching and developing others.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Guest Experience

• Drive sales by engaging guests, making product recommendations, and creating memorable shopping experiences.

• Lead by example using the AEO Selling Model to deliver best-in-class service.

• Monitor individual and team performance and provide coaching to improve sales results.

• Support execution of promotions, loyalty programs, and seasonal campaigns to maximize revenue.

Team Development & Coaching

• Mentor and train team members on selling techniques, product knowledge, and operational standards.

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivated team culture (#AEOFamily).

• Recognize and celebrate associate achievements to encourage high performance.

• Assist store leadership in identifying, developing, and retaining top talent.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure the salesfloor, fitting rooms, and stock areas are organized, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards.

• Support inventory management, merchandising, and stock replenishment.

• Maintain compliance with safety, operational, and asset protection standards.

• Help execute Floorsets and seasonal resets to enhance the guest experience.

Reporting & Analysis

• Track and review sales performance, KPIs, and team metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Provide actionable feedback to associates and store leadership based on performance insights.

• Assist in implementing operational improvements to streamline workflow and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven retail or sales experience with exposure to team leadership or coaching.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.

• Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and retail operations.

• Knowledge of AE & Aerie products and customer preferences.

• Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team toward achieving sales goals.

• Business acumen and analytical skills to identify opportunities for growth.
