Overall Job Summary:

The Retail Store Manager plays a crucial role in achieving sales and profit targets within the store by devising strategies to provide an excellent customer experience. They are tasked with cultivating a top-performing team, fostering their growth, and overseeing talent and leadership development, along with implementing an organized performance assessment system based on outcomes, principles, and leadership qualities. Adherence to legal obligations and H&M guidelines, policies, and protocols is essential for the Retail Store Manager to meet the needs of customers and team members effectively.

This role reports to the Area Sales Manager and oversees the following team members: Store Visual Manager (depending on sales volume), Department Manager, Department Supervisor (depending on sales volume), Visual Merchandisers (depending on sales volume), Cash Office Responsible (depending on sales volume), as well as Sales Associates.

Your Daily Routine

Sales and Profit

• Consistently examine and monitor Sales & Profit Key Performance Indicators and respond with appropriate measures to enhance outcomes
• Maintain compliance with H&M guidelines, store procedures, and industry best practices by implementing efficient scheduling strategies to enhance sales performance and facilitate business operations. This involves optimizing staff allocation for tasks such as moving inventory, managing sales, coordinating events, completing assigned duties, and adhering to established routines while delivering exceptional customer service within the designated labor hours budget
• Collaborate with the Area and Store team to rank tasks and offer input on store distributions to ensure optimal inventory levels that directly influence sales
• Implement cost-effective strategies to maintain the store in line with H&M standards and take necessary measures as needed
• Collaborate with the Store Team to proactively minimize losses and adhere to all Audit guidelines effectively
• Engage in carrying out store procedures and duties such as handling the delivery truck, processing garments, implementing reductions, and updating prices

People and Teams

• Supervise and control the recruitment, training, advancement, and future leadership preparation for the Store in alignment with H&M's top standards
• Assess and oversee the Store Team members' performance, conduct discussions, create development strategies, offer feedback, and conduct subsequent check-ins, and implement measures to enhance performance in line with business requirements
• Maintain consistent and transparent communication with the Store team regarding Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Country/Sales Market/Area/Store objectives by conducting daily Store Meetings and weekly/monthly Leadership Meetings
• Ensure that compliance with H&M standards and local regulations in handling health, safety, legal, and security matters is maintained, prioritizing the safety of both employees and customers consistently
• Enhance our Company Culture by encouraging regular feedback within our daily operations and guiding the Store Team to follow suit

Financial Accountability

• Store's responsibility for generating sales and maximizing profits
• Precise documentation of sales data and hours worked

Who You Are

• You can easily manage to carry weights exceeding 20 pounds
• The capacity to remain upright for extended periods, flex and extend the body, participate in recurring movements, exert force, haul, and transport objects (such as mannequins, garments, containers, body forms, etc.) over a limited distance
• Skill in ascending a ladder and utilizing a footstool
• Flexibility in scheduling, encompassing both evenings and weekends
• Experience of more than two years leading employees at a management level is valued
• Computer literacy, including skills in web browsing, using software, and inputting data, is essential
• Travel may be necessary to provide assistance to other store locations, attend meetings, and participate in training sessions
