The primary duty of a Retail Visual Manager is to enhance the overall aesthetic of the store through the strategic placement of merchandise and decorations

About the Role

In the role of Retail Visual Manager, you are instrumental in creating an inspiring, elevated, and coherent customer journey by enforcing visual benchmarks and commercial prowess. Working alongside your store team, you will use your knowledge of emerging trends to oversee the implementation of visual and commercial strategies in accordance with the established guidelines to actively propel sales in your store. Your duties include leading, coaching, and advancing the Visual Merchandiser team through continuous training to establish a stable talent pool within your store.

Customer Sales & Profit pertains to the revenue and profits resulting from customer sales activities

  • Optimize the total OMNI customer experience in your store by adhering to guidelines for visual and commercial curation through consistent follow-ups
  • Showing a positive attitude towards customers while representing yourself and the H&M Brand is key
  • Coordinate efforts with the Store Manager, Area Visual Manager, and Store teams to establish, carry out, and evaluate store visual and commercial benchmarks
  • Take the lead in assisting your VM team to structure, schedule, and prioritize assignments following the store activation plan, and adapt as required to meet business demands collaboratively with the Store Management team and Area Visual Manager
  • Work closely with the Store Management team and Area Visual Manager to oversee the timely kick-off and completion of the most recent global campaigns and sales activities while adhering to H&M Brand Standards
  • Help maintain garment quality, oversee stock levels, and provide guidance on distributing inventory to Store Management and Area teams
  • Undertake a sales report (KPIs) evaluation to oversee achievements, pinpoint, and classify visual and business opportunities jointly with the Store Management team
  • Guarantee that your VM team establishes effective and efficient plans to improve customer satisfaction in order to meet sales targets, store goals, budget constraints, and required follow-up procedures in collaboration with the Store Management team
  • Collaborate with the Store Management team to ensure that all processes for OMNI services, operational routines, legal obligations, and communication strategies are consistently followed and implemented in all areas of the store

Understanding the ever-evolving world of fashion helps individuals make informed choices about their personal style

  • Stay in the loop with the fashion industry by monitoring trends, styles, brands, and influencers to stay relevant.
  • Encourage your VM team to invest time in enhancing their fashion and trend awareness through studying trend theory and creating mood boards for styling techniques. This proactive approach can help anticipate customer demands and enrich the shopping experience within the retail environment

Team & Development

  • Motivate and educate your store team to stay current on seasonal changes, fashion trends, relevant visual and business updates, in-store messaging, and customer perception of pricing
  • Assist in the training and development of the visual and business skills of the VM and Store teams to ensure the excellence of product display and commercial representation as outlined
  • Support & develop daily routines and best practices for your Store team to always ensure a consistent level of visual & commercial standard while maintaining customer service engagement
  • Accountable for conducting recruitment, orientation, performance assessment, skill enhancement, and professional growth initiatives for employees and newcomers working with the Store Manager and Area Team
  • Foster a culture that values talent and invests in their growth and development to meet the evolving needs of your store
  • Plan, deliver, and oversee visual and marketing skills training for you and your co-workers
  • Verifies that the Visual Competences & Commercial 4 All training requirements are fulfilled by Store teams as per the specific learning and development objectives for each region and sales market
  • Offer assistance to the Sales Market and Area teams by providing the talents necessary for the expansion of store projects

Practical application of visual and commercial concepts

  • Responsible for curating the visual and commercial aspects of the store through the coordination of displays, merchandise placement, and styling decisions that are informed by the commercial calendar, allocation schedule, store activities, and trend analyses per established visual and commercial criteria
  • Advise your visual merchandising team on adopting standardized processes for sampling, including maintaining precise garment, accessory, and shoe quantities in storage, to uphold the alignment of trend narratives with the visual and commercial guidelines derived from inspiration sources
  • Guide your VM team to secure window presentations and styling in line with brand guidelines to deliver an exceptional and commercially viable customer experience
  • Securing a good customer flow requires careful attention to detail in how the commercial layout is structured and how fixtures are utilized to showcase trending products and create an appealing story for customers
  • Maintain a proper balance and regular upkeep of price signs in windows and throughout the store following the specified guidelines as per the Global strategy and Sales Market standards, which should be implemented effectively by the VM and Store teams
  • Partner with Facilities Management to verify the functionality of all lighting elements, arranged to illuminate and emphasize our merchandise and window exhibits throughout the store
  • Uphold the quality and sustainability of display forms and interior materials through regular maintenance
  • Align with the Area Visual Manager to uphold and keep your store navigation current, following the latest guidelines and store structure
  • Verify that your store is stocked with enough merchandise for sales and promotional events, following local guidelines
  • Keep the retail space and storage area clean, arranged, and secure following the security procedures specific to the area
