Your Role as a Seafood Clerk

As a Seafood Clerk, you will play a vital role in delivering a great customer experience in our Seafood Department. Under direct supervision, your primary duties will include:

• Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and appealing seafood display

• Cleaning, rotating, and restocking all seafood products in the service case

• Following sanitation and food safety standards, including proper handling and storage of seafood

• Assisting customers with questions or special requests regarding seafood selections

• Performing regular temperature checks and logging product conditions

• Working in a cold environment and handling raw fish and seafood items

• Following all company policies and department procedures

What You'll Bring

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

• Read and understand product labels, signage, instructions, and memos

• Write simple correspondence and present information effectively

• Carry out basic written or verbal instructions

• Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift/move up to 45 lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 60 lbs

• Work well in a fast-paced team environment

• Work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Thrive in a physically demanding job with long periods of standing, stooping, and bending

Bonus Skills

• Basic PC or Outlook skills

• Retail Management Certificate or related training

Requirements

A valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for this position and must be maintained during employment.

Working Conditions

This position involves frequent exposure to cold temperatures, wet environments, and raw seafood products. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and maintaining cleanliness standards in the department.
