Job Summary of Short Term Teacher:

Implement lesson plans and support academic progress while supervising the classroom in the teacher’s nonattendance. Create a suitable learning atmosphere in adherence to classroom protocols and school conduct standards. Taking on this role facilitates skill development in teaching and aids in student maturation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Short Term Teacher:

• Comply with and enact lesson plans as guided by the absent teacher.
• Promote a safe and structured classroom environment.
• Assist students in grasping the subject material and fulfilling their academic requirements.
• Communicate incidents involving student harm, sickness, or serious behavioral issues to school leadership.
• Complete additional responsibilities as instructed by school administration.

Qualifications and Experience of Short Term Teacher:

• The eligibility for non-certified positions includes having a New Jersey Substitute Certification and a minimum of 30 college credits.
• A current New Jersey certification for Continuing Education (CE), Certified Educational Administration and Supervision (CEAS), or Standard Teacher Certification is essential.
• Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing, reflecting advanced language skills.
