Overall Job Summary:

Responsibilities of the Store Leader include meeting Sales and Profit objectives within the Store through the formulation of a plan that prioritizes delivering an exceptional Customer Experience. The Store Leader is required to build and nurture a high-quality team, aid in their advancement, and engage in talent and leadership enhancement as well as structured performance evaluation for the Store Team based on achievements, principles, and leadership capabilities. Compliance with statutory obligations and H&M regulations, policies, and procedures is necessary to fulfill the demands of customers and associates suitably.

Reporting to our Area Sales Manager, this position supervises the following staff members: Store Visual Manager (dependent on store revenue), Department Manager, Department Supervisor (depending on sales volume), Visual Merchandisers (based on sales volume), Cash Office Responsible (based on sales volume), and Sales Associates.

Sales and Profit

• Regularly assess and track Sales & Profit metrics to optimize performance and achieve maximum results
• Adhere to H&M operational protocols, standards, and recommended methodologies, ensuring that store functionalities align with corporate expectations for achieving maximum sales conversion and promoting commercial initiatives effectively. Emphasize the importance of upholding service excellence and meeting customer needs while managing labor costs within the allocated budgetary constraints
• Work closely with the Area and Store team to determine essential tasks and give evaluations on store allocations to maintain favorable stock levels that positively affect sales performance
• Manage maintenance operations in the store economically while adhering to H&M guidelines and respond proactively
• Work together with the Store Team to actively reduce losses and ensure compliance with all Audit guidelines
• Take an active role in performing store routines and tasks, which may involve tasks like unloading delivery trucks, processing clothing items, making reductions, and adjusting prices

People and Teams

• Supervise the recruitment, training, growth, and succession mapping for the Store in accordance with H&M's established methods
• Assess and address the performance of Store Team members, implement conversations, devise plans for growth, provide input, and perform subsequent monitoring, and instigate measures to enhance performance to align with the business objectives
• Establish a practice of frequent and open dialogue with the Store team about Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Country/Sales Market/Area/Store targets through regular Store Meetings and periodic Leadership Meetings
• Maintain a standard of adherence to health and safety protocols, legal requirements, and security measures in line with H&M guidelines and local legislation, keeping the well-being of employees and customers paramount
• Bolster our Company Culture through the promotion of feedback as a routine aspect of our daily tasks, and mentor the Store Team to adopt this practice

Financial Accountability

• The store is accountable for driving sales and ensuring profitability
• Correct registration of sales numbers and time spent

• You are capable of lifting over 20 pounds without much effort
• Being able to stand for prolonged durations, flex, reach, perform repetitive gestures, exert force, tug, and transport objects (like mannequins, apparel, containers, body forms, etc.) over a brief distance
• Proficiency in scaling a ladder and making use of a stepping stool
• Willingness to work during evenings and weekends without restriction
• Candidates with at least two to three years of relevant leadership experience with employees are encouraged to apply
• A fundamental understanding of computers, which includes navigating browsers, interacting with software, and entering data, is required
• It may be necessary to undertake journeys to offer support to different stores, join meetings, and participate in training activities

Employment Status: Salaried, Non-exempt (Exempt for locations with high sales volume)

The annual salary for Store Leaders ranges from $59,505 to $66,944
