Overall Job Summary:

The Store Operations Manager is responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in the Store by setting a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience. The Store Operations Manager will ensure to have the Best Team and support their development, as well as work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for the Store Team based on results, values, and leadership. The Store Operations Manager will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.

Under the guidance of the Area Sales Manager, this role involves managing the following direct reports: Store Visual Manager (based on store volume), Department Manager, Department Supervisor (based on sales volume), Visual Merchandisers (based on sales volume), Cash Office Responsible (based on sales volume), and Sales Associate.

How You Spend Your Day

Sales and Profit

• Regularly monitor and respond to Sales & Profit indicators to ensure optimal results are achieved
• Ensure that store operations conform to H&M benchmarks and industry best practices through strategic scheduling that optimizes sales conversion, facilitates commercial initiatives, and maintains high-quality customer service. Emphasize the importance of aligning with labor hour allocations to drive operational efficiency and meet sales targets efficiently
• Collaborate with the Area and Store team to rank assignments and give feedback on store distributions to ensure a robust inventory selection that has a direct impact on sales success
• Oversee store maintenance in a financially prudent manner that satisfies H&M requirements and respond promptly to any issues
• Work together with the Store Team to actively prevent losses and adhere to all relevant Audit guidelines
• Be actively engaged in executing store routines and tasks, such as managing the delivery truck, processing garments, applying reductions, and updating prices where necessary

People and Teams

• Oversight and direction of recruitment, training, development, and succession planning for the Store in keeping with H&M's best practices
• Assess and manage the performance of Store Team members, engage in discussions, establish development plans, provide feedback, and conduct necessary follow-ups, and implement strategies to enhance performance to support the business goals
• Ensure that the Store team is regularly updated on Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Country/Sales Market/Area/Store objectives by conducting daily Store Meetings and weekly/monthly Leadership Meetings
• Ensure that health and safety practices, legal requirements, and security protocols align with H&M's standards and local laws to promote and maintain the safety of employees and customers in all situations
• Elevate our Company Culture by championing the value of feedback in our daily operations and guiding the Store Team in embracing a culture of open communication

Financial Accountability

• The store is tasked with increasing sales revenue and optimizing profitability
• Correct registration of sales performances and working hours

Store Operations Manager Qualifications

• The ability to be upright for extended periods, flex, stretch, engage in repetitive movements, exert force, transport, and convey items (mannequins, clothing, boxes, forms, etc.) for a limited distance
• Proficiency in ascending a ladder and using a stepping stool for elevation
• Availability extends to evenings and weekends, no time constraints
• Applicants who have led management-level employees for at least two to three years are highly regarded
• The ability to navigate browsers, interact with software, and input data are core computer skills that are indispensable
• Support for various stores, meeting attendance, and training participation may involve traveling when necessary
