Job Summary of Substitute Classroom Helper:

Support teachers in orchestrating instructional engagements, maintaining classroom discipline, and offering individualized assistance to students. Foster students’ academic and personal growth, particularly focusing on those with exceptional needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Substitute Classroom Helper:

• Provide educational guidance tailored to each student’s needs, either individually or in small group settings.
• Assist in creating a conducive learning environment by effectively managing the classroom dynamics.
• Aid in managing administrative responsibilities and preparing necessary materials.
• Monitor students in diverse educational spaces, like cafeteria settings, playgrounds, and off-site educational visits.
• Provide assistance to students based on the specific support measures detailed in their IEPs or 504 Plans.
• Guide students in managing their academic, personal, and emotional well-being.
• Carry through supplementary duties as requested by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Qualifications and Experience of Substitute Classroom Helper:

• Attainment of a high school diploma or a GED is a common prerequisite for many opportunities.
• Mastery of the English language (speaking, reading, writing).
