Job Summary of Support Teacher:

Ensure the continuation of educational activities and enforce classroom orderliness during the teacher’s temporary absence. Promote a conducive learning setting consistent with school directives and academic rules. Engaging in this capacity offers the chance to refine instructional techniques and contribute to student growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Support Teacher:

• Follow through with and enact lesson plans as instructed by the teacher who is not present.
• Uphold safety and order in the classroom.
• Help students in understanding the subject material and completing their coursework.
• Notify the school administration immediately if a student sustains an injury, falls ill, or engages in serious misconduct.
• Handle further duties as warranted by school administrators.

Qualifications and Experience of Support Teacher:

• To be considered non-certified, individuals must possess a New Jersey Substitute Certification along with at least 30 college credits.
• New Jersey Continuing Education (CE), Certified Educational Administration and Supervision (CEAS), or Standard Teacher Certification must be valid.
• Mastery of the English language across its different components, including speaking, reading, and writing.
