Role Overview

As a Tax Strategy Specialist, you will provide expert tax guidance, strategic planning, and advisory services to help clients optimize their tax outcomes. You will work closely with individuals and small businesses, analyzing financial data, identifying opportunities, and implementing strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize refunds. Your expertise will support TurboTax’s mission of making taxation simple, accurate, and beneficial for every client.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze client financial and tax information to provide actionable tax strategies.

• Develop tax planning solutions tailored to individual and business client needs.

• Advise clients on deductions, credits, and investment strategies to optimize tax outcomes.

• Collaborate with tax preparation teams to ensure accurate implementation of strategies.

• Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate relevant changes to clients.

• Provide guidance on complex tax scenarios such as business income, investments, and life events (marriage, retirement, education).

• Support internal training and knowledge sharing for tax advisory best practices.

• Assist with developing resources and educational materials for clients.

Qualifications

• Active CPA, EA, or practicing attorney license with strong tax advisory experience.

• Minimum of 3–5 years in tax strategy, planning, or preparation.

• Experience with federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance.

• PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) required.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
