What You'll Do

As a Utilities Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our store remains clean, organized, and welcoming to all customers. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the general upkeep and cleanliness of the store, with special focus on the Produce Department and front-end areas

• Bagging groceries efficiently and offering to carry out groceries for customers when requested

• Retrieving and organizing shopping carts from the parking lot

• Running price checks and assisting with restocking or go-backs as needed

• Keeping check stands clean and removing trash or debris from store premises and parking areas

• Responding promptly to spills, safety hazards, or customer concerns in the store environment

• Providing friendly and courteous assistance to customers on the sales floor

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for team members who:

• Read and comprehend basic instructions, shelf tags, labels, and written memos

• Write short, clear correspondence

• Communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings

• Follow detailed but straightforward written or verbal instructions

• Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift/move up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs

• Can stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods in a busy retail environment

• Are dependable, punctual, and eager to help customers and teammates alike

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Basic PC or Outlook knowledge

• A Retail Management Certificate or similar coursework

Work Environment

This role requires physical stamina and alertness in a busy retail setting. You’ll frequently be exposed to varying weather conditions when retrieving carts or maintaining the exterior of the store. The job also involves standing for long periods and responding quickly to cleanliness or safety issues.
