What You'll Do

As a Bakery Clerk, you'll provide excellent customer service and support daily bakery operations, including stocking, cleaning, order preparation, and assisting customers with purchases and special orders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with bakery items and special orders

• Stock and rotate self-serve displays in and around the bakery

• Maintain clean shelves, displays, and floors (including washing with soap and water)

• Work with the Baker to determine which items need baking or decorating

• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

• Lift, carry, and move merchandise (up to 60 lbs as needed)

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and follow basic instructions and product labels

• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work both independently and with a team

• Physically able to stand, walk, lift, kneel, and bend for extended periods

• Must possess or obtain a valid Food Handler Card

Preferred:

• Basic PC/Outlook skills

• Retail Management Certificate

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role requires working in a fast-paced grocery setting. Physical requirements include lifting, standing, kneeling, and regular movement throughout the department. Visual and auditory capabilities are essential.
