Position Overview

The Janitor/Maintenance Attendant plays a key role in the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the gym. This position is responsible for daily cleaning duties and light maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and inviting space for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, equipment, and all high-touch surfaces

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wipe down floors and gym areas regularly

• Remove trash and recycling; restock supplies in all necessary areas

• Maintain cleanliness of mirrors, windows, doors, and walls

• Clean and organize janitorial closets and storage areas

Maintenance Support

• Perform minor repairs such as tightening loose fixtures, replacing bulbs, or fixing leaks

• Inspect facility equipment and report any larger maintenance issues promptly

• Ensure gym equipment is clean and functioning properly

• Assist with setup/breakdown for events or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or facility maintenance experience preferred

• Must be detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Comfortable using cleaning equipment and light tools

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, climbing, standing)

• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
